Background/Motivation
This is a simple 3D model I created while learning Autodesk Fusion 360—a blue tapered cup with a hexagonal honeycomb pattern.
Model Design

The design features a tapered cylindrical shape with a honeycomb perforated pattern, making it both functional and aesthetically interesting.
Modeling in Fusion
Just a few things to learn in modeling this:
- The angle of the “wall” should be larger than 30° so that it can be printed without support. In this case, I used 75°.
- The wall thickness is 3 mm, and the print feels strong enough for heavy items.
- Use the revolve feature to make the cup.
- Use the circular feature to create the hexagon pattern around the cup.
Printing Notes
My first print exhibited some stringing between the holes. Lowering the travel speed should help minimize this issue.
